The 7 Worst Types of Status Updates on Chasabl

We’ve all seen those posts that make us go “ugh!” The pleas for attention, the constant “Skype?” posts, and the guys who are perpetually “bored”. Here’s our pick of the top 7 worst kind of posts.

1. “I’m Bored.”

You’re not bored. You’re bor-ing. Find a hobby or at least a more engaging status update!

2. “Skype?”

Nobody likes a skype whore. Want someone to Skype with? Start by getting to know them a little first and THEN ask to Skype. Don’t be the Skype seagull!

3. “Why is no one into me?”

Everyone has a type. Big or small, young or old, rich or poor, there are plenty of men out there who find you attractive. Not every guy will and that’s OK! That’s what Chasabl’s search feature’s for anyway! Chances are, if you’ve posted this as your status update, you’ve had plenty of guys who ARE interested, you just want more. Stop focusing on the guys who aren’t into you, focus on the cool ones who are—if you don’t you might lose them!

4. “I can’t believe this has happened!!!”

If something happened, tell people. Ambiguous posts that beg the reader to follow up and ask “what???” can be annoying. If you’ve got something to say, say it!

5. “Help me out and donate to my PayPal!”

This is an infrequent offense, but a nonetheless annoying one. Blanket appeals for money win few fans. When times are hard, ask your friends for help (you know, the ones you’ve spent time getting to know and trusting). Asking every stranger on a social network comes across as a bit desperate.

6. “Look at my profile! Look at my photos! Love me!”

OK, so no one has ever posted those exact words, but the constant pleas for attention and praise can be a bit much. Just posted sexy new photos and want to let people know? One status update will do it—no need for 20!

7. “I’m leaving!”

Nine times out of 10, when someone posts this update, they aren’t actually leaving. They just want to be noticed. People who want to leave will just do it. Those who want attention will just talk about it.
